The National Basketball Association (NBA) Golden State Warriors team has extended the contract with head coach Steve Kerr, ESPN reports . The agreement runs until the end of the 2025/26 season; the 58-year-old coach will receive $35 million over the next two years of work at the club. Kerr’s previous contract with Golden State expired in the summer of 2024.
Kerr’s annual salary will be $17.5 million, making him the highest paid coach in NBA history. Only San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich earns more than him in the league, but he combines the post of coach with the role of president of the club. His five-year contract, signed in the summer of 2023, implies an income of $19 million per year.
